The three workers our outreach programme has sponsored – Cwenga Buru, Zulpha Manuel and Jonathan Manuel – have now all moved on. Jonathan has joined the Streetscapes Peer Counselling team; Zulpha is no longer living on the streets; and Cwenga is still working at Streetscapes but is looking for a job in line with his qualifications (a BTech accounting diploma).
Over the year, that team filled more than 1,000 bags with rubbish, sweepings, and weeds!
Chantel Sampson, who managed our team so well for years, and Clinton Hendricks, team supervisor for most of this year, have moved to new permanent jobs in the Lower Gardens CID. We wish all of them well!
We welcome Lee-Roy Wagenaar, Farag Afrika and Mcebisi Caka, who will be working on our streets under the guidance of Streetscapes social worker Zoliswa Mbana.
If you see them on the streets, please say hello!
If you would like to book the team to clean your street or favourite park, drop a line to info@dpvoutreach.org.za
